Maybe you have done talk therapy in the past, and it was not the right approach for you. Talking about your trauma is not as effective as feeling it. In order to heal from past wounds, you have to feel all the feelings associated with them. This can be scary. The body may have some defenses in place to block you from feeling that pain. Which is why it is important that we first help you build up tolerance and stability. Once you have done that we will use EMDR and Somatic Therapy as a tool to reprocess past experiences and feelings, without re-experiencing them.
