Find true connection, not fear
Attachment-Based Trauma Therapy in American Fork, Utah.
Services offered virtually throughout Utah
Your earliest attachments form the foundation for how you navigate conflict, safety, and intimacy in relationships today. Attachment-Based Trauma Therapy helps you heal those childhood wounds so you can choose to show up differently in your relationships.
You do not have to rely on the survival skills you learned as a child. Through Attachment-Based Trauma Therapy you can learn new ways to respond to conflict, break out of relationship patterns, and deepen your ability to connect with loved ones.
The ways you adapted to survive your early dynamics was how your younger self protected you. But today, those same patterns might just be keeping you stuck.
Does this sound familiar?
~You find yourself pushing people away, or anxiously trying to pull them in.
~You describe yourself as hyper-independent—you’d rather do it yourself than ask for help, because asking for help is either pointless or scary.
~You worry about being too much, or not enough in relationships.
~You’re a chronic people pleaser, managing everyone else’s comfort, over your own.
~You are too afraid to bring up any conflict and risk someone being upset by you.
~You self sabotage when things get too real.
You’re done feeling….
Unloveable, unworthy, and not enough
Like you do not belong, and no one really gets you
Feeling deeply alone, even when surrounded by others
Fear that if people see the real you, they will reject you
You have to do everything yourself
Hypervigilant to any shift in mood, tone, or body language
A need for constant external validation
Imagine instead knowing…
You are loved and cherished by yourself and the right people
You can find belonging in yourself and with people that understand you
You can confidently build a place you belong, instead of manipulating yourself to fit in
Not everyone will vibe with you, but you can find people that accept you as you are
You don’t have to do everything on your own. Asking for help isn’t scary or useless
You can stand stable while others around you change
You’re own validation is the most important

Individuals with past experiences of abuse, neglect, abandonment or unstable primary caregivers.
Also for those that are struggling in current relationships due to insecure attachments, abandonment fears, and chronic feelings of unworthiness.

Attachment-Based Trauma can be broken into two sections. Big “T” trauma, and little “t” trauma.
Big “T” trauma would be sexual, physical or psychological abuse, severe physical or emotional neglect, and abandonment. This happens when the parent has failed to put the child’s safety first.
Little “t” trauma would look like being left alone in difficult emotions, fear of getting into trouble or yelled at, parents that lack emotional maturity, or are too overwhelmed to give you the attention you need. Often times these caregivers are doing the best with what they have.
Whatever trauma you experienced was not your fault, but it is your responsibility to heal from it. Coming to peace with the role your parents played is an important part of the process.
