Does this sound familiar?
~You avoid conflict, by sacrificing your own peace to preserve the peace of others.
~You go in to a fear response of fight, flight, freeze or fawn when facing conflict.
~You are doing so much, but you still feel like it is not enough. You have a difficult time allowing yourself to rest.
~Even when you are in a safe space your guard is still up. You are constantly scanning the room and others moods for threats.

~You often end up in a shame-spiral. Nobody tears you down as effectively as you do.
~You feel like you are too much and never enough at the same time.

Meet Lindsey Spencer, LMHC
Trauma and Relationship Therapist near Salt Lake City, UT
Serving Salt Lake City and Nearby Communities: Sandy, Draper, Millcreek, and Holiday. Virtually available throughout UT
Hi, my name is Lindsey and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in Utah. I help people regulate their nervous systems after the effects of trauma. I help them identify past wounds that turned in to negative beliefs about themselves, and patterns that are impacting their relationships and daily living.
I know what it feels like to be to be stuck in survival mode. To feel like you are repeating the same cycle, but unable to break free from it. I can help you settle down your nervous system, so you can break free from past wounds that are holding you captive. I will help you learn new ways to cope, instead of relying on the survival skills you learned as a child or in past relationships. Utilizing EMDR and Somatic Therapy, I will help you release trauma in your body and rewrite your story. To learn more about EMDR and Somatic Therapy click HERE!
I won’t rush your nervous system.
Using a gentle approach, we will move at a pace that feels secure, grounded, and sustainable for you. Trauma therapy doesn’t have to be a daunting experience. You do not need to relive trauma to heal from it. I will give you the tools you need to move at a pace where you feel safe.
What to expect from doing therapy with me…
Step One:
After you fill out a contact form, expect me follow up in the next few days. We will set up a 15 minute phone call to discuss what you are looking for from therapy, and to see if we are a good fit.
Step Two:
Your first few appointments will be about hearing your story, and building a therapeutic relationship. Expect to do majority of the talking at first. I want you to feel safe and heard.
Step Three:
Once you feel safe, stable, and supported we will work with your nervous system to address underlying issues causing distress. I utilize evidence-based approaches to help you heal from deep wounds.
Step Four:
Therapy isn't meant to last forever. Once you’ve reached your goals and integrated the tools we’ve built into your daily life, our time together will naturally come to a healthy close.
